Nichols, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The New York Lottery gave some locals a chance to be a contestant on their favorite game show, right here in the Southern Tier.

A seven-week tour of New York state brought Family Feud to Tioga Downs Casino on Friday night.

New York Lottery Drawing Assistants Gretchen Dizer and Yolanda Vega are hosting the show, allowing lottery players a chance to try their hand at the "Survey Says!" fun.

Prospective players were given the game show experience simply by presenting a non-winning Family Feud lottery ticket.

Contestants were grouped together, the game board lit up, the crowd cheered -- and the answers were priceless.

"It's really funny some of the answers we get to the questions. People have a lot of fun with it when they get up there. All the questions are straight from the game show, so although a lot of people don't get to have the actual chance to be on the show, this gives them the whole experience," Dizer said.

More than 80 contestants went head-to-head searching for common answers to the questions presented.

Players had the chance to win up to $100 in Family Feud lottery tickets, and consolation prizes included signature Family Feud hats and tees.
