UPDATE: Two-alarm electrical fire at garage in Greene

Greene, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A garage caught fire in Greene late Tuesday night, according to Chenango County Fire Alerts.

Fire investigators determined on Wednesday that the cause of the two-alarm fire was electrical. The call reporting the structure fire came over to Chenango County Fire Alerts on Tuesday around 10:45 p.m. for 143 Slater Rd.

There were no injuries reported and the building is currently for sale, as the business is in the process of moving to their new facility on State Highway 12 in Greene.

There was minimal equipment in the building, but structurally, the building suffered substantial damage in various areas, including the building's entire electrical system.

Greene Fire Department was dispatched to the garage, which was described as a 40 x 60 foot metal structure.

A second alarm was called, and Coventry, Smithville, Brisben, Chenango Bridge and Chenango Forks Fire Departments all helped in mutual aid.

Chenango County Fire Investigators were also called to the scene.
