Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Supporters of the Children's Home celebrated the nice weather Thursday afternoon at the annual Garden of Hope event.

More than 60 people gathered at Traditions at the Glen to enjoy dinner and drinks in the garden party setting.

"We do this every year and it's a great to be able to support the different activities for the kids," said Margaret Tatich, Director of Community and Donor Relations at the Children's Home.

The organization began as an orphanage, and has helped families and children in Broome and surrounding counties for more than 100 years.

"Our services range from residential to after school care to family support," said Tatich.

Donations and ticket sales from the Garden of Hope event this spring will help to provide club and fitness memberships for children as well as summer trips and activities.

The Children's Home is planning two more fundraising events for the summer, including the Maggie Memorial Golf Tournament on June 27 and an ice cream social on Aug. 12.
