Gas leak shuts down part of Endicott's Main Street

Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A gas leak shut down part of Main Street in Endicott Thursday.

A NYSEG official said construction crews were repairing a gas natural line when it ruptured.

Endicott police confirmed that Main Street from Adams Street to Jackson Street had been closed off due to the leak.

Three homes were evacuated and nine services were shut down.

The services were repaired and people were allowed back in their homes by early Thursday evening.

Members of the Endicott Fire Department, Endicott police, NYSEG and the Department of Transportation were on the scene.
