Girlfriend charged in Ithaca stabbing
Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An Ithaca woman is arrested for assault after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend. Jill Kaufman, 31, of Ithaca, was charged with assault in the second degree, a felony. Ithaca police responded Saturday afternoon to Cecil A. Malone Drive "The Jungle" for reports of a robbery and stabbing. A man had been stabbed in the leg and was bleeding. He was taken to a regional trauma center to be treated for his injury. Police interviewed the victim, his girlfriend, Kaufman, and witnesses. After an investigation, police found that the stories of the incident did not match up. Investigators determined that the victim and his girlfriend, Kaufman, had been arguing and she stabbed him in the leg. She was arrested July 10, arraigned in Ithaca City Court and released to the supervision of the Tompkins County Probation Department.
