Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) We're just out of the season of giving, and Friday is the day to throw all your old stuff out!
Friday, December 28 was the 6th annual Good Riddance day.
People from all over New York City lined up in Times Square to get rid of any bad memories from 2012. The event was sponsored by Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment.
We found out that the event might have been in N-Y-C, but people here in Broome County wanted to say Good Riddance to things too!
Charles Soriano from Endwell said, "Probably that old picture of me in seventh grade when I was really really chubby and had big cheeks. My mom keeps it up in the house."
Jessica Degroat of Windsor said, "My old TV."
And Town of Union resident, Jonny Abrenica, said, "I have to say a love letter."
Owego resident, Alonda Manzer agrees with Abrencia when she said, "Lots of letters, lots of old pictures that are just not worth anything any more."
Some say that with only a few days left in 2012, the best time to get rid of things is now, to start fresh in 2013.
