Conklin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A group of young All-Star golfers raise money to head West for a trip of a lifetime.

A car wash and bake sale was held in Conklin Sunday to send the Conklin USGLL All-Star team to the National Championship.

The team and a large group of families and suppters are leaving next weekend to go to Long Beach, California.

The team is made up of has seven all-star members from the Southern Tier.

The USGLL, a non-profit, pays for the players to go compete,

But all expenses for the parents, families and support staff have to come out of pocket.

"My youth golf association which is a partner through the community sportsplex is a non-profit so we don't have a lot of money. It's great support. From all of us, we have sponsors we work with all year, they're always helping the teams. It's really good to see our local kids get on big airplane out of JFK and fly out to California for a week," says Director Rob Warholic.

The group will be representing the "East' division in the National Championship.

They will play teams from Pennsylvania, Texas and California.
