Cortland, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Skiers and snowboarders are gearing up for the first big snowfall.

Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Cortland hears them loud and clear.

Owners John Meier and Marc Stemerman said Greek Peak has put in nearly $5 million so far on renovations.

The renovations include a new quad chair lift, a tune-up center for ski repairs, and a restaurant with a toasty fireplace.

The owners said there's no better place to enjoy the winter and make new memories.

"Greek Peak is about family," John Meier said. "It's about spending time and connecting with your kids, and getting quality time with your loved ones."

"I grew up skiing here, our kids are growing up skiing here," Marc Stemerman said, "and we want other families to be part of this."

Meier and Stemerman said they're opening up almost 400 jobs to the area as well.

Just on Saturday afternoon, they said they interviewed about 150 people.

The new look is expected to be finished before January.
