Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A grocery chain looks to hire in the Binghamton area.

There were approximately 70 people early Wednesday morning at Aldi's in Vestal.

The grocery chain held a local hiring event for all of Aldi's Binghamton area stores.

Full and part-time positions are available for manager in training jobs.

People could submit an application and talk to the district manager.

"I'm young, I have energy. I'm committed to excellence. I have a strong work ethic and I've got good character," said local job seeker, Daniel Gordon Sokol.

"I'm used to running a team. I'm used to the customer service environment, so I think my chances are good," said Charlie Haupt, who is also job hunting.

Aldi's needs more staff to get ready for the spring.

"We are trying to stay ahead of that sales growth," said Amber Hardy, the district manager.

Aldi's is particularly looking for managers in training who may be willing to relocate once they are trained.
