Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Numerous organizations are calling on Legislators to say 'no' to cutting more than a billion dollars in school budgets.

Citizen Action of New York,, New York State United Teachers and other organizations are urging state legislators to reject Governor Cuomo's $1.5 billion dollar budget cut in aid to schools.

Parents also spoke out for their children, saying they deserve to learn and cutting programs will also cut quality education.

"This Governor's budget if left untouched is going to effect all kinds of people," says NYSUT member Ben Frisbie. "The youngest children that go to school, right up through high school, and even into colleges, our university's and our colleges are being hurt."

The group also delivered hand crafted valentines to State Legislators asking them to reject the proposal to send the message that cutting $1.5 billion from our schools will 'Break Hearts'.
