Guns and cash recovered in no-knock search warrant

Afton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A 53-year-old man is arrested after a no-knock search warrant of his home revealed illegally-possessed guns and cash.

The search warrant stemmed from illegal drug activity at the residence, located at 199 Garlick Rd. in Afton.

At 9:00 a.m. Friday, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police CNET and the Norwich Police Department teamed up to execute the search.

Allan Shepard was arrested after investigators found several illegally-possessed long guns and money in his home.

Shepard was charged with criminal nuisance in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

Investigators said Shepard has a prior felony conviction, which prevents him from possessing a firearm.

He was taken to the Chenango County Jail on $30,000 cash bail.
