Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Firehouse Stage in Johnson City kicked off their Classical Piano Plus! Series on Sunday.

Maestro John Covelli started the concert off by playing Beethoven for a packed theater.

Covelli will be featured in each of the three concert in the series.

During each concert, he will be playing with a guest artist.

This time, that guest was James Wallenberg, a violinist from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra who's originally from Binghamton.

"From what I've heard, there's an immense amount of culture going on in Binghamton, which pleases me" said Wallenberg. "Not only symphonic, but chamber music, opera, singing and cabaret."

This is the sixth performance season at the Firehouse Theater.

The classical piano series will have two more performances.

One concert is in March and the other is on Mother's Day.
