Utica, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Republican Congressman Richard Hanna wins by more than 60 percent of the vote for the newly-created 22nd district.

Hanna takes home the seat with 115,000 votes to opponent Democrat Dan Lamb with almost 71,000.

The district stretches from Broome all the way to Oneida County.

Hundreds of supporters filled the Hotel Utica to lend their support to the now two term congressman.

At the time Lamb conceded, Hanna was leading in every county in the district.

He says he will continue to represent the communities who put him in office.

Hanna said, "I want to continue to earn the respect that you've shown me through your efforts, and your vote. Your money, all of that. We look forward to being part of solutions this country desperately needs."

Hanna says he was impressed with Lamb's commitment to the environment and the issue of hyrdrofracking.

He said he wouldn't mind working with his former opponent in the future.
