Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Tioga Chamber of Commerce tipped their hats to local businesses Thursday for their annual event.

More than half of the 95 businesses represented at the Annual Tioga Business Show came back from the 2011 flood, which canceled last year's event.

This year's theme was "Hats Off To Business."

"Today's event is two-fold. It's all about businesses making connections with other businesses and it's about the outside community coming in to see what Tioga county and the area has to offer," said Martha Sauerbrey, President & CEO Tioga Chamber of Commerce.

Businesses featured services ranging from finance to gift baskets, and bakeries to pharmacies.

The majority of businesses are small to medium sized, giving them a chance to network.

"When businesses talk together they find out that they have needs and they can secure business from one another, they can establish new contacts, and that's what keeps the economy going," said Sauerbrey.

The event began with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. and ended around 4 p.m on Thursday.

It was open to the public.
