Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A home health aide in Ithaca was charged with grand larceny after police said she stole thousands from her elderly employer.
Stacey Courtright, 24, of Ovid, is accused of stealing 16 checks from the elderly woman.
Ithaca Police said Courtright forged the woman's signature and cashed the checks totaling $4,000.
Police said an audit was conducted after the elderly woman discovered funds missing from her bank account during the spring.
Courtright turned herself into police on Wednesday and was charged with grand larceny.
She was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and released on her own recognizance.
