Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Several streets and a mall parking lot in Ithaca experienced flooding Sunday, but for two different reasons.

According to Tompkins County Police dispatchers, the street flooding occurred in the southern part of the city, after about a half hour of heavy rain.

The flooding started around 9:30 a.m. and subsided about an hour later.

Police dispatchers said no roads were closed, but the Ithaca Police Department urged caution to drivers.

Meanwhile, a parking lot at the Shops at Ithaca Mall also flooded.

The Lansing Fire Department chief confirmed the flooding didn't have to do with the rain, but rather a break in the lot's culvert pipe.

The chief confirmed most of the water had receded by 5 p.m.
