(WBNG Binghamton) A pair of college basketball teams use their home court crowds to help collect food and raise money for those in need.
It's all part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.
The Broome Community College and Davis College basketball teams were selling red Rescue Mission bracelets for a dollar, with money going to the Rescue Mission's Whitney Place, a residence for homeless men.
Also, fans were asked to bring cans of non-perishable food for the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse.
"Any time we can be a help in the community we are willing. We just want to give back for a good cause. We're talking about men who are homeless and need help, so we're glad to be a part," said Davis College Athletic Director Tom O'Connor.
A portion of ticket sales also went to help the Rescue Mission.
