Heroin arrests announced in Otsego County

Oneonta, NY (WBNG Binghamton) 67 packets of heroin were seized during an investigation involving the Otsego County Sheriff's Office and special agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

On November 20, they arrested Bryan Montel Slaughter, 33, of Utica, NY and Dylon Paul Mager, 22, of Ocracoke, NC.

Both are charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

According to the sheriff's office, investigators observed suspicious activity in the parking lot of Home Depot in Oneonta. Officers then stopped Mager's vehicle on Route 28 for traffic violations. They found both Mager and Slaughter with heroin packets valued at $1,340 along with $1,305 cash.

At their arraignment in Oneonta Town Court, Slaughter was sent to the Otsego County jail without bail because he has two previous felony convictions. He was also charged with a parole violation. Mager had bail set at $2,500.

Oneonta detectives assisted with the investigation.
