Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For some local children, the season for giving began Friday evening.

The Boys and Girls Clubs held their holiday party in Binghamton, and it was a gathering that brought more than fifty kids together to share in the Christmas spirit.

Children unwrapped board games, dolls, stuffed animals, and toy cars as they shared freshly baked Christmas cookies.

Roberto Sostre, Unit Director at the Clubs, said that the purpose of the event was to make sure all the kids had a gift.

"It was the last day before they go on Christmas break so we gave them some food and drinks and we just want to make sure the kids were having a good time," he said.

The holiday party is put on each year and it made possible by local organizations and monetary donations.
