Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Good guys are honored, as an organization gives back to those who help youth in Tioga County.

The Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation hosted its "Good Guy" Breakfast at the Elks Lodge in Owego.

This is the 16th year of the Breakfast.

It honors businesses, individuals, and organizations that promote the health and well being of youth and families in Tioga County.

More than 9 thousand dollars in small grants and scholarships were handed out to twenty organizations serving Tioga County youth.

Youth that volunteer in the community were also recognized.

"Leadership and volunteerism are very very big points for these young people. They get out, they help in the community. They're leaders and that's what we're looking for, we're looking for people that can move forward after we've moved on," says volunteer Annette Schweiger.

This year's breakfast also honored long time volunteer Gae Crosby, who recently died.

Crosby promoted the development of special needs citizens.
