(WBNG Binghamton) All across the Empire State Saturday, New Yorkers volunteered at state parks and historic sites for the second annual "I Love My Park Day."
Gov. Andrew Cuomo was one of those volunteers, raking, building bleachers and pulling weeds at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in Westchester County.
He said the cleanup helps open eyes to the many benefits of New York's beautiful green spaces.
"This state has a really great, great park system," Cuomo said. "Especially times like now, when the economy is a little tight, we have to remember what we have."
Cuomo said the cleanup is one of his favorite events of the year.
