Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A disabled town of Dickinson man gets a new lift and a new bathroom, all thanks to a state grant.

The First Ward Action Council is using a $100,000 grant from the New York State Access to Home program to help modify homes for disabled Broome County residents.

Emilio Velez suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and walks with a cane.

Thanks to the First Ward Action Council, he is getting a new handicapped accessible bathroom and a stair glide, which will transport him from his garage up into his home.

Now, Velez will be able to move freely, and independently, through his house.
