Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The India Cultural Centre honored the victory of good over evil this weekend.

Durga Puja is described as an important part of Hindu tradition as the Goddess Durga conquers an evil demon indestructible to man, proving that good does conquers evil.

This is the sixth year the center is celebrating Durga Puja.

"It's open to all, so I would like people to come and participate in it and you don't have to be Indian or you don't have to be Hindu," said Sambit Saha, a festival organizer. "It's open to everybody. It's open to people from all religions, people from all nationalities. They can come and enjoy this festival."

They celebrated through traditional music, food, and storytelling.

This year is the first year the festival spanned the entire weekend.

Saha said about 300 people have showed up over the course of the weekend -- the most they've had so far.
