Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton police are investigating how a child fell out the third story window at 27 Charlotte Street.

Neighbors tell Action News they heard screaming and found a 2 1/2 year-old girl on the ground outside.

Neighbors said the child appeared to be conscious.

Binghamton police have identified the little girl as Jaslene Comacho,

"The screaming woke me up from my bedroom window and I saw the baby on the ground," said neighbor Cassandra Rave. "And I told my fiancee to go outside and see what was wrong with it, because it had no shoes on or anything. And it was just laying there and screaming and screaming and screaming."

Brenda Huss, a neighbor and grandmother of 5 is in shock, "We were the ones who called 911 and brought the baby to the porch and tried cleaning her up as best as we could."

The child was taken to Upstate Medical Center to be treated for non life threatening injuries where she is in critical but stable condition.

The cause of her fall is still under investigation.
