Town of Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A live simulcast brings Israeli President Shimon Peres to Vestal.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Binghamton welcomed guests to watch and participate in a live interview with Peres by Charlie Rose.

Although participants were able to submit questions, the interview focused on Israel's role in the middle east and its relationship with Iran and the Arab revolutions.

What garnered a lot of interest was Israel's proposed responses to Iran seeking to build a nuclear weapon, which includes calling for sanctions.

"The world either relies or deifies or condemns Israel for many of its actions, and here we're hoping to hear a brilliant man talk about his views of the world, and I think it's important for everybody, Jew, Muslim, Christian to listen," said Sima Auerbach from the Jewish Federation of Greater Binghamton.

The simulcast was a live broadcast from the 92nd Street Y in New York City.

Peres is Israel's ninth president.
