Helping hand to business start-ups
(WBNG Binghamton) Broome County is reminding local entrepreneurs start-up help is available. County Executive Debbie Preston announced Thursday the Greater Binghamton Innovation Center is working to provide the necessary resources to entrepreneurs who want to start a business. The GBIC provides internet, phone and utilities to 11 start-up businesses. Sonostics Inc., a company that specializes in leg physical therapy, is one of them. "When we did our first marketing video, we turned to White Knight Productions, who was one of the first graduates from the Innovation Center. I would probably not have known of their existence were we not here and them having been there. So that was a way for us to get high quality work done and keep it in the family," said Chuck Schwerin, the CEO of Sonostics. The GBIC helps businesses in a variety of fields. They have the ability to house 12 businesses and currently have one vacancy.
