Nichols, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Saturday night was the first ever World Chicken Spiedie Eating Championship.

There were 15 competitors, 15 stomach aches and one winner.

"We reached out to Major League Eating (MLE) which is the national organization that runs the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest and all of the other major competitive eating contests," said Justin Horowitz of Tioga Downs who hosted the event.

Through MLE, they were able to pull names like Joey Chestnut.

Chestnut took home the spiedie eating crown after woofing down 13.75 sandwiches in 10 minutes.

"They were big chunks of chicken," said Chestnut. "I was not expecting chunks that big. It took a lot of chewing, coming out today I knew that as long as I put up a decent show, I'd do alright."

Tioga Downs said they hope to have the competition every year.
