Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It's almost that time of year when area towns and villages observe winter parking rules.

Johnson City's alternate side parking takes effect next Friday, November 1st.

Between the hours of 2 am to 6 am, vehicles must park on the side of the road corresponding with the date.

On an even number date, you must park on the even number side of the road.

Then on the odd side on an odd number day.

Here's one example the village gives.

If you park your car at 5pm on November 1st, and you don't plan on moving it again that night, then park on the even side of the street..

Since 2 am the following morning will be November 2nd.

Alternate street parking runs until March 31st.
