Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A wildly successful event returns for another year.

The goal: Keeping kids warm this winter.

Coats for Kids brought in more than 1,400 coats for children in need, and organizers hope for similar success this year.

To donate, visit Raymour and Flanigan furniture store in Johnson City, find one of the Coats for Kids barrels, and drop the coat in.

"Family enrichment network serves over 700 kids a day. And many of our families find it difficult to keep all the kids clothed in warm outerwear for the wintertime. So we're hoping that through the clothes for kids campaign that we'll be able to help them out this year," said Cindy Martin, director of fund development for the Family Enrichment Network

Donations are being accepted until Dec. 13.

After that the coats will be given to the Family Enrichment Network, which will then distribute them to needy kids in the area.

WBNG is co-sponsoring the event.
