Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The coordinator of two major money-makers in the area stopped by the Endwell Rotary Club to discuss the importance of both events in the community.

Both the Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally and the Dick's Sporting Good Open provide a great draw to our region for local entertainment, activities, food and vendors. And, when they're in town, visitors spend money at local businesses and hotels and elsewhere.

Event coordinator, Dave Pessagno, said the two events are a great way for the community to enjoy what Broome County has to offer.

"Both events are so important to our community,” said Pessagno. “Both drive a lot of money into our community through economic impact."

Pessagno says the two events have become so big that people will come from out of town, or plan their trips to Binghamton around the Speidie Fest or the Dick's Open.
