AAA Travel predicts that even with the rising gas prices...

More than 33 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles on Labor Day weekend.

Also, more Americans will be flying.

About 2.5 million leisure travelers will be flying on Labor Day weekend, up 3.6 percent over 2011.

Richard Jacobs, President of Southern New York AAA, expects the gas prices to come back down soon.

"We can expect to see the prices if tradition holds true starting to come down mid September," said Jacobs.

He added that it might be advantageous to fly depending on the length of your trip.

According to travelers surveyed by AAA, 66 percent of intended holiday travelers said their current money situation would not negatively impact their Labor Day holiday weekend travel plans.

In fact median spending of travelers is expected to total about $749, up from a median spending of $702 in 2011.
