Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Johnson City's Oakdale Mall was full of people on Sunday who were doing some last minute Christmas shopping.
With Christmas right around the corner, malls across the country are filled with those who waited until the last minute to buy their gifts.
"It's definitely been a lot crazier than normal," said Dana Pitts, who works at the Oakdale Mall.
Some, like Lisa Spangenburg, is already finished buying gifts.
"I got my shopping done I would say the first week after the holiday season started," said Lisa Spangenburg.
And she has some advice for those who didn't.
"Do not procrastinate, get it done as fast as you can," said Spangenburg.
But it's not uncommon, says Pitts. Store hours are extended during the holiday season and Pitts says work's become a lot more stressful.
"Everybody's a procrastinator I guess," said Pitts.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. Some people prefer it, like Dawn Marie Walker, who got her gifts about a week ago. She doesn't mind all the hustle and bustle. In fact, she welcomes it.
"It depends on the type of person you are. But I myself actually had fun this year, even getting last minute gifts today, it kind of gets you more in the spirit. So I think next year I might even wait until the week of," said Walker.
If you don't feel like shopping at the mall at all, you can always just order online, said one couple to me who just wanted some ice cream.
