(WBNG Binghamton) As another Winter Storm warning is in effect for much of the Twin Tiers, the governors in New York and Pennsylvania are preparing for heavy snow response.

Both Andrew Cuomo and Tom Corbett have directed state agencies to be on standby.

The governors say they will direct necessary snow removal resources to the areas in greatest need like the eastern portions of the region.

Governor Corbett ordered the State Emergency Operations Center to open at 8pm, Feb 12.

"By this activation, we are able to have extra resources available to us" said Corbett.

"We have been working closely with the Pennsylvania Utilities Commission and the utilities here in Pennsylvania, to make sure that they are ready for the oncoming storm," said Corbett, "and to have as many resources as possible ready to move when we're able to"

People are urged to pay attention to the local forecast, avoid unnecessary travel and ensure they are prepared with home and vehicle emergency kits.
