Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Vestal Hills Elementary School is embracing diversity within its classroom walls and celebrating it with music.

The school brought in performer and teaching artist, Dave Ruch.

He presented a "World Communities Concert."

It is designed to showcase the beauty of diversity and to show students how to appreciate it instead of being embarrassed by it.

Ruch performed interactive songs, keeping the students of Vestal Hill Elementary School interested.

"They're exposed to different backgrounds and families and all of that makes them more enriched and brings more to their school spirit," Vestal Hill Elementary School Principal, Therese Master.

The elementary school will also be hosting a community night.

Parents of students will set up booths with food and information about their cultures and backgrounds.
