(WBNG Binghamton) It's been a month since Broome County lawmakers passed a measure to protect their roads from heavy industry.
But now the legislature says it’s reconsidering its vote after several recent concerns from local farms and business owners. They say it would place a heavy burden on their operations.
County Executive Debbie Preston is also taking these concerns to heart saying she will veto the proposal.
Although it wont be disappearing from county agendas anytime soon. Lawmakers say the move is giving them more time to rework their road use agreement and to make it fair for those who have depended on these roads for years to carry out their business.
