Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) One group decided to take their cause up to Albany in person.
Local people against hydrofracking in New York State traveled up to the capital.
The bus full of Catskill Mountainkeeper anti-fracking activists left this morning.
The group planned to rally before the State of the State Address today.
Activists say they want their message of no fracking in the Southern Tier to reach leaders including the Governor.
"We're interested in talking about the cost of fracking for both the health of New Yorkers, and for the health of our economy, to encourage the governor to say no to this extreme and toxic form of energy extraction," said Sandra Steingraber, A biology researcher at Ithaca College. "New York State can do better than that."
A draft of the governor's speech had included a brief section on hydrofracking in the state, however no mention was made on the subject in today's address.
