Local Bar Gets a New Look

Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A local hot spot reopens with a new look, new menu and new owners.

The former Cosmo's on Riverside Drive in Johnson City has officially become The Corner Bar.

The building previously featured an open ceiling and a large Tiki bar in the center, but was destroyed and closed down following the September 2011 flood.

Under new management, the restaurant has been completely renovated with a sports bar feel.

"We decided not to make it a Tiki bar anymore, we wanted to make it a bar for all seasons, and people seem to enjoy it," said owner and manager Bryan Kelly.

The Corner Bar serves up a full menu of pizza, chicken, burgers and salads. Kelly says their specialty is chicken wings, and they hold a special promotion for wing lovers on Monday nights.

The bar has only been open since February 1, but people are already making it a regular spot, Kelly said. A grand opening will be held within the next few weeks.
