(WBNG Binghamton) Thousands of students will turn their tassels and prepare to enter the real world but for local businesses, it's no time to celebrate.

Taylor Rental, located in Vestal, supplies tents, tables, chairs, and other accessories for parties such as these. Owner, Mike Flesher, says being so busy has left many of the shelves that once held thousands of chairs and tables, completely empty.

"Weddings, corporate events, and children parties and then through on top of that the graduation weekend, for the high school graduation, and it becomes the busiest weekend of the year," said Mike Flesher, Owner of Taylor Rental

Another essential for all these parties is good food. Well know in the the Binghamton area, is Lupos S & S Char Pit on West State Street. Lupo's has always been a hot spot for tourism, giving people even more of a reason to have them cater their parties.

"With the couple, two or three holidays, they're always the busiest but graduation weekend because you've got people coming into town so they are making all their stops." said Stephen Lupo, Co-owner of Lupos.

"The bread, the sauce, the different things. And when they are leaving town to go to other people's graduations," said Lupo, "They take our stuff with them. So really it's just a good weekend."

And last, but not least, every good party needs a cake. Bakeries around town, such as Baked Euphoria in Endwell, say that they have had their phones constantly ringing for about a month, because of this one weekend.

Bonni Phelps, owner of Baked Euphoria, says the staff have been preparing for this weekend for about two months now but in the end, it is all worth it.

"We get messages in Facebook or we will get emails from customers just telling us how excited they were, how people were raving over our cakes and they are so glad they went through us," said Phelps, " And when we get a referral from somebody and they said they were told by several people to come to us, I mean, that says it all. You know you've done what you are suppose to do out there."
