Local business catches fire

Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Johnson City Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire a little after 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming out of a heater vent at Hank's Warehouse at 101 Lester Ave.

Firefighters forced their way in the door on the first floor and proceeded to the utility room where the fire was contained.

The fire was put out within 25 minutes, and Johnson City's Fire Chief said that there was smoke damage throughout the building.

The Fire Department is looking into what started the fir.e

Johnson City Police Department assisted on scene.
