Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A two-year website design company in downtown Binghamton is getting some extra money.

Freshysites, a small start-up company that moved into downtown Binghamton this January, won this year's Binghamton Local Development Corporation business plan competition.

The competition looks to encourage and aid local small businesses and includes a $5,000 prize for the winner.

There were 10 entries in this year's competition.

Contestants had to attend workshops along the way to develop their ideas.

"It is really exciting to be part of this competition and to put together a comprehensive plan that really outlines your business and to track your growth and see what you can expect from your business and what goals you can put out in the future for yourself," said Ben Gioardano, owner of Freshysites Website Design.

Freshysites plans to use the money to pay for an intern and basic company equipment.
