Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Lockheed Martin’s Mission Systems and Training laid off 587 U.S. employees including 65 at the Owego facility.

Most of the employees being laid off will exit the business on Nov. 20. That will leave the Owego facility with 2,600 employees.

The layoffs were announced back in October. Keith Little, Senior Manager of Public Relations, said the layoffs will address continuing challenges in their business environment, including continued uncertain program funding, delays in contract awards and an extremely competitive market.
