Driver hits crossing guard and leaves scene

Town of Chenango, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a male driver who hit a crossing guard on Thursday and left the scene.

Deputies said it happened at the crosswalk directly in front of the Chenango Bridge Elementary School on River Road.

The crossing guard, a female, had just crossed several students, and was walking back across the street within the cross walk, when an unknown vehicle struck her, causing her to fall on the hood of the vehicle.

The woman was not injured and is currently back working.

The vehicle is described as a small to mid-sized, white car with New York white licensed plate possibly starting with "ENB".

The Sheriff's Office described the driver as a light skinned older male with glasses, dressed in a suit and tie.

The car was driving on River Road toward Kattelville Road.
