(WBNG Binghamton) Peter Jackson has done it again. Tuesday night, some lucky locals got to check out the premiere of the second movie in Jackson's most recent trilogy, an adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit."

The CW and Miller Auto Team sponsored the showing of 'The Hobbit : Desolation of Smaug.'

The movie opens nationwide on Friday, Dec. 13.

Many movie goers were excited to see it, "I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of it because it ended at a major cliff hanger," said Kailey Harris, 14, of Bainbridge.

"I saw the first one and I liked it, i'm guessing the second one would be even better," said Kolin Parks, 8, of Binghamton.

The third and final film in the trilogy, 'The Hobbit: There and Back Again," is slated for a December 2014 release.
