Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A federal grand jury has indicted one of the 14 accused gang members named in a local drug trafficking conspiracy.

Derek "Jinx" Carr, 29, was indicted in federal court on April 3 for drug trafficking conspiracy, a felony, and carrying a firearm, as part of the drug trafficking crime.

Carr is charged with trafficking crack cocaine, powder cocaine, heroin, and marijuana in the Binghamton area.

The investigation began in September 2009, when law enforcement said gang members distributed large quantities of the controlled substances.

Carr is part of the Bloods Street Gang known as the “MacBallers.” Carr and the other members were charged in a federal court in Binghamton on March 26.
