Man arrested in Broome County for DWI

(WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Sheriff's Office arrested Donald L. Chaffee just before 1 a.m. Sunday after responding to the scene of a crashed car.

Deputies responded to a call about a vehicle that had crashed and flipped over in the area of Upper Front Street at Gabor Road.

After investigating the scene, deputies determined the driver, Chaffee, 53, of the Town of Chenango was intoxicated.

Chaffe was taken into custody by Sgt. Andrew Eggleston for driving while intoxicated.

He is being charged with driving while intoxicated, a class E felony, moving from lane unsafely, an infraction, and refusing to submit a roadside breath test, an infraction.

Chaffee was convicted with a prior DWI in 2005.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Chenango Court at a later date.
