Harpursville, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It was a man's dream to build a zoo, and now Animal Adventure is a reality.

Animal Adventure officially opens on Saturday.

The Harpursville outdoor animal park held their media day Thursday afternoon.

Dozens of animals, from camels to red kangaroos to reindeer, took over the 20-acre park.

Owner Jordan Patch says the goal of the park is to educate adults and children alike.

He says this is not a typical zoo.

"All of our animals are hands on and they want to engage you as much as you want to engage them. You don't get that a lot of places, this is really a hands-on learning park," Patch said.

They will be open the rest of the summer Wednesday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
