Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An Endicott man is in jail after police say he stabbed his son.

It happened early Saturday morning.

Endicott police say Timothy Harvey, 62, stabbed his son, Nicholas Harvey, 24, during a dispute at their home on Adams Avenue.

Officials say it began around 1 a.m. when Timothy told his son and his friends to leave the house and not return for the night.

Nicholas got upset, and punched walls and the doors before leaving, police said.

He returned at around 3 a.m., climbed in through a window and began fighting with his mother.

Harvey's father then confronted his son with an ice pick and knife.

Timothy and Nicholas began fighting and Nicholas was stabbed in his leg and hand with the knife, police said.

Officials charged Timothy with assault and sent him to the Broome County Jail.

Nicholas was charged with menacing and criminal mischief, which are misdemeanors.
