Man accused of stealing from storage units

Cortlandville, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Cortland man was arrested after deputies said he broke in and stole items from multiple storage units.

29-year-old Ryan Manwaring was charged with felony burglary.

The Cortland County Sheriff's Department said the break-in happened sometime between Wednesday and Friday at the storage units located at the intersection of Starr Road and Glenwood Avenue.

Deputies found the suspected truck used in the burglary while investigating an unrelated incident near the trailer park on Kingsley Avenue.

The owner of the truck, Manwaring, admitted to the crime.

Deputies found several of the items taken, like hand tools and hardware, inside his trailer.

He was taken to the Cortland County Jail and charged with the following:
- Burglary in the third degree, class D felony
- Criminal mischief, class A misdemeanor
- Petit larceny, class A misdemeanor

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.
