Man arrested after leading police on chase

(WBNG Binghamton) A Pennsylvania man is behind bars after he tried to flee police and tried to hit a police car.

Pennsylvania State Police arrested Erik Echuk, 26, Westfield, Saturday night.

Police said Echuk fled the scene during a traffic stop in Clymer Township.

State police chased Echuk for about 20 miles through Clymer Township, Chatham Township, Middlebury Township, Tioga Township and Tioga Borough.

During the chase, police said he tried to ram into a cruiser.

Echuk was sent to Tioga County Jail. Police said he is waiting on a preliminary arraignment.

He is charged with aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude police officer, driving under the influence, terrorist threats, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, reckless driving and multiple traffic offenses.
