Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Ithaca Police took a man into custody after he threatened several people with a knife.
It happened a little after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
According to a report by Ithaca Police, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of East State Street for a report of a man threatening several people with a knife.
The man was identified as Richard Knapp, 26, of Ithaca.
When an officer arrived on scene, the Knapp still had a knife in his hand and was ordered to drop it. He then complied.
Witnesses said Knapp approached several people at an ATM while they were withdrawing money. He demanded cash, but he did not get any.
Knapp is charged with a felony count of attempted robbery in the 1st degree, and menacing in the 2nd degree.
Knapp was arraigned in Ithaca City Court this morning and taken to the Tompkins County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.
